چکیده مقاله
The construction industry's significant environmental footprint, driven by intensive resource consumption and high generation of Construction and Demolition Waste CDW , poses a substantial challenge for sustainable development Addressing this issue requires a paradigm shift in CDW management and the integration of advanced technologies to foster the Circular Economy in the built environment This review outlines the research on the application of digital tools in the approach towards CDW management, through the development of emerging digital or digitalized methods, including building information modeling BIM , geographic information systems GIS , blockchain, and simulation Additionally, the key factors influencing current CDW management practices are identified along with emerging methods for waste reduction The findings underscore the importance of leveraging data driven approaches to enhance strategic and effective decision making as well as reduce the industry's environmental footprint, and achieve long term resource efficiency Ultimately, this study provides a roadmap for practitioners and policymakers in Iran to transition CDW management from a logistical burden into a cornerstone of the circular economy and responsible construction, while overcoming context specific challenges
