چکیده مقاله
This study investigates the phenomenon of scour downstream of grade control structures GCS , including bed sills and submerged weirs Although designed to control erosion, these structures can themselves cause local scour and threaten the stability of the structure The findings showed that increasing the weir height intensifies scour, with dimensionless parameters including scour depth, length, and horizontal distance of the scour hole, as well as the height and length of the dune increasing by 24 12%, 28 16%, 32 62%, 14 35%, and 29 66%, respectively This indicates the direct influence of flow kinetic energy on the scour pattern A strong correlation was observed between the densimetric Froude number and the dimensionless scour depth, with a coefficient of determination R² of 0 89, highlighting the importance of sediment characteristics Additionally, linear relationships were found between the dimensionless scour depth and the horizontal distance R2 = 0 86 as well as the scour hole length R2 = 0 83 , confirming a predictable scour hole development pattern Comparison with previous studies showed that although minor deviations exist in certain ranges of the densimetric Froude number, the overall trend of scour parameter variations follows a consistent pattern, confirming the validity of results of this study
