چکیده مقاله
Office buildings are significant contributors to global energy consumption, necessitating effective strategies to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability Occupant based energy retrofits OBERs have emerged as a promising and cost effective solution Balancing energy consumption reduction with occupant comfort through OBERS presents a challenge due to variations in individual preferences, activities, and working conditions in office environments This complexity has driven research into optimizing energy efficiency while maintaining workplace comfort A review of existing literature suggests that OBER strategies can, on average, reduce energy consumption by approximately 10 15% and enhance indoor occupant thermal comfort duration by up to 20 25% This paper reviews studies on OBERS, focusing on their effectiveness in office buildings Key aspects explored include factors influencing occupants' comfort preferences, which are crucial for optimizing OBERS Different OBER strategies are reviewed Additionally, decision making models for optimizing OBERS under different conditions are discussed, aiming to improve energy performance, occupant comfort, and building efficiency The objective of this study is to provide researchers and practitioners with a clearer understanding of OBERS and their impact By synthesizing existing knowledge, this review aims to facilitate informed decision making and promote the adoption of efficient and occupant friendly energy retrofits in office buildings
