چکیده مقاله
The increasing water scarcity in Iran, combined with the growing demand for sustainable construction materials, highlights the need for innovative strategies to optimize water consumption in concrete production This study focuses on managing water usage in the production of Engineered Cementitious Composites ECC by employing optimized mix designs and advanced material technologies Two mix designs were prepared, differing in their water to binder ratios and the incorporation of nano silica The specimens were cured for 28 days and tested for mechanical properties, including compressive strength, tensile strength, modulus of elasticity, and fracture energy The results demonstrated that by optimizing the mix design and incorporating nano silica, it is possible to reduce water consumption by 32% without causing a significant loss in compressive strength Moreover, notable improvements were observed in tensile strength and fracture energy, indicating enhanced ductility and better performance of ECC under severe loading conditions such as impact or seismic events Overall, the findings suggest that integrating water recycling techniques, nano silica enhancement, and optimized curing processes can effectively promote environmental sustainability, reduce construction costs, and enable the development of high performance ECC suitable for modern infrastructure applications
