چکیده مقاله
The present study investigated whether emotion regulation mediates the relationship between Internet gaming addiction, perceived stress, and sleep quality A total of 360 participants were selected using simple random sampling and completed online questionnaires, including the Internet Gaming Disorder Scale, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire, and the Perceived Stress Scale Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient, independent t test, one way ANOVA, and mediation analysis The results showed that individuals who scored higher on Internet gaming addiction were more likely to experience greater perceived stress and poorer sleep quality Moreover, Emotion regulation was significant as a partial mediator Importantly, the indirect effect of Internet gaming addiction on sleep quality through emotion regulation was stronger than its indirect effect on perceived stress The findings highlight the critical role of emotion regulation in understanding the psychological consequences of excessive gaming
