The imposition of international sanctions has several implications at the national level In recent years, given the widespread multilateral and unilateral sanctions against Iran, this paper examines the effects of sanctions on the environment and energy from international law The basic hypothesis of this article is based on the fact that sanctions in the field of the environment cause a violation of the right to a clean environment that is directly related to the right to health and the right to life, as well as violations of general and specific principles of environmental rights, including the principle of joint responsibility Distinct becomes the principle of cooperation Also, considering the importance of the energy sector in the Iranian economy and the legal illegitimacy of energy sanctions from the perspective of various rules of international law, its profound impact on the Iranian economy is evident
