چکیده مقاله
Introduction: Overweight children are more likely than their normal weight peers to experience psychological and social problems, which may result from obesity related discrimination, teasing, and bullying These negative experiences can affect their mental health, physical abilities, and daily functioning It remains unclear whether psychological problems are a cause or a consequence of childhood obesity, or whether shared factors underlie both Rankin et al; 2016 In this context, trampoline exercises, as a form of physical activity with specific biomechanical effects, can not only enhance physical fitness and balance but also positively influence children's psychological indicators Additionally, providing equitable access to urban sports facilities can increase the participation of overweight children in physical activities and help mitigate negative psychosocial outcomes Therefore, analyzing the biomechanical effects of trampoline exercises on psychological indicators and equity in access to sports facilities is an important step toward understanding and improving the physical and mental health of these children Accordingly, a critical review and analysis of existing studies through a narrative review enables the identification of trends, gaps, and potential effects of trampoline exercises on psychological indicators and equity in access to sports facilities for overweight children This study can provide guidance for planning targeted sports interventions and policy making aimed at enhancing the physical and mental health of children Methodology: This study was designed as a narrative review aiming to analyze the biomechanical effects of trampoline exercises on psychological indicators and equity in access to sports facilities among overweight children In this research, the analysis process involved a detailed examination of the selected articles, from which key information including study type, study population, type and duration of intervention, psychological and biomechanical indicators, and main outcomes was extracted The findings were then summarized descriptively and thematically, and trends, patterns, and existing gaps in previous research were analyzed Finally, insights were provided based on the integration of existing scientific knowledge and the identification of potential effects of trampoline exercises on overweight children This methodology allowed a comprehensive understanding of the topic by combining available evidence with analytical synthesis and enabled recommendations for future research The studies included were retrieved from reputable databases such as PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, SID, and Magiran The search was conducted using relevant English keywords, including trampoline exercise, childhood obesity, overweight children, biomechanical effects, psychological outcomes, access to sports facilities, equity, and Persian keywords, including trampoline exercise, childhood obesity, overweight, biomechanical effects, psychological indicators, sports equity Findings: Trampoline exercises are not only an engaging and low impact physical activity for overweight children, but they can also improve their psychological indicators and quality of life Studies have shown that six weeks of balance training on a mini trampoline in children with cerebral palsy led to increased muscle strength, balance, and functional mobility, with high levels of enjoyment and adherence to the exercise program, and without reported adverse effects Germain et al; 2019 These findings suggest that trampolines can be a safe and effective tool for enhancing self confidence and providing a positive exercise experience for children with motor limitations or overweight Research has also shown that trampoline training in both healthy and overweight children improves cardiorespiratory performance, postural control, and static and dynamic balance while reducing the risk of injury Ojukwu et al; 2025; Arabatzi et al; 2018 These direct biomechanical effects on physical abilities indirectly increase self confidence and reduce anxiety related to physical activity in overweight children, as they experience greater success and control over their bodies Beyond individual psychological benefits, access to appropriate trampoline equipment and spaces plays a crucial role in sports equity Limited access to urban or school based sports facilities often hinders participation for overweight children, exacerbating psychosocial outcomes such as discrimination, bullying, and reduced social interactions Providing safe and appealing spaces such as trampoline parks or equipping gym classrooms with trampolines can reduce these barriers and create equal opportunities for physical activity Therefore, trampoline exercises not only promote physical and mental health but also play a key role in increasing equitable access to sports Studies in both adults and children have also shown that trampoline exercises can improve metabolic and psychological indicators, including reductions in BMI, glycated hemoglobin, and emotional stress, as well as improvements in quality of life Maharaj & Nuhu, 2018; Okemuo et al; 2021 These findings are directly applicable to overweight children, as weight control, reduced anxiety, and increased physical capacity can enhance positive exercise experiences and motivate participation in urban sports environments In conclusion, evidence indicates that trampoline exercises, as an effective biomechanical tool, can enhance both the physical and mental health of overweight children and facilitate their equitable access to physical activity Integrating these exercises into educational programs, rehabilitation, and urban policy can be an important step toward improving children's physical and psychological health and reducing inequalities in sports opportunities
