Water concern is a serious problem in the world and wastewater treatment is a proper solution for that Congo Red CR is an anionic azo dye that can cause serious problems In this work, large scale chitosan and chitosan AC Ch AC hydrobeads were prepared and their performances were compared FTIR test proved the accuracy of synthesis After that, 100 ml of CR with initial concentration of 50 mg/L was used in a fixed bed column recirculation system FBCR After 7h, the removal of CR for AC, chitosan and chitosan AC were 18 8%, 42 76% and 55 04% respectively In this way, adsorption capacities were obtained 0 94, 2 138 and 2 752 mg/g respectively Using AC as the base did not change the performance of hydrobeads significantly This was attributed to the fact that only a few external layers of hydrobeads participate in the adsorption of CR
