چکیده مقاله
Climate change poses a critical threat to apiculture by disrupting floral resources and bee ecology This study assesses the impacts of climate change on beekeeping in northwest Iran and documents the adaptation strategies and barriers faced by beekeepers Using a mixed methods approach, data were collected from 200 beekeepers across three climatic zones via surveys, interviews, and field observations from June 2023 to April 2024 The results indicate that drought, erratic rainfall, and altered flowering patterns have significantly reduced honey production and jeopardized livelihoods In response, the primary adaptation strategies employed were changing hive types and increasing hive numbers, with apiary relocation being particularly important in two zones However, adaptation efforts are constrained by significant barriers, including insufficient capital, small and scattered operations, limited access to skilled labor, and weak institutional support The study concludes that enhancing the resilience of beekeeping requires targeted, localized interventions, improved knowledge dissemination, and strengthened policy frameworks to support sustainable adaptation in the face of ongoing climatic changes
