چکیده مقاله
Public transportation plays an important role in integrated municipal transportation development Despite of its significant positive impacts on socio economic developments, it may suffer from incompatibilities with environmental resources and sustainability in development This paper intends to present a conceptual scheme for sustainable transportation in urban area by employing a set of environmental indicators The selected environmental indicators will be ranked considering their importance in addressing sustainability Ranking process will be performed under professional judgment and pairwise comparison The main goals in this research are defined as: 1 Presenting of a detail conceptual scheme for sustainability in public transportation 2 Definition of objective indicators for evaluation of goals achievement in sustainable transportation, and 3 Presentation of a set of indices for assessment of sustainability in public transportation developments
