چکیده مقاله
Child abuse is one of the most important social and psychological issues, with long term negative effects on children’s emotional, social, and cognitive development Previous research has shown that the quality of the parent–child relationship plays a crucial role in parenting behaviors and in preventing child maltreatment The aim of this study was to examine the effectiveness of parent–child effective communication skills training in reducing and preventing child abuse The research method was quasi experimental with a pretest–posttest design and a control group The statistical population consisted of parents with children aged 6 to 12 years The sample was randomly selected, and a total of 30 parents were divided into experimental and control groups Data collection tools included standardized questionnaires measuring parent–child communication skills and parental abusive behaviors The results indicated that effective parent–child communication training significantly improved parents’ communication skills and reduced abusive behaviors toward children Furthermore, the training enhanced parents’ awareness of their children’s emotional and behavioral needs and encouraged the use of positive and non violent methods in managing child behavior Based on the findings, it can be concluded that parent–child communication skills training is an effective intervention for preventing child abuse, and it is recommended that such programs be widely implemented in counseling and family education centers
