This study critically examines the necessity for a distinct Islamic economic development model, justified through its unique foundations aligned with Islamic principles The global economic system, characterized by significant income inequality and uneven wealth distribution, necessitates a review of alternative models Muslim countries, having experienced both capitalist and socialist systems, face high unemployment, hunger, poverty, and economic instability The Islamic ethical economy emerges as a value based system aimed at reducing inequality and fostering balanced growth through human centric development The Islamic economic development model emphasizes human development, aligning with Islamic principles Tawheed ullah, recognizing Allah as the ultimate creator and owner, addresses resource imbalance and unjust allocation Al'Adle Well Ehsan focuses on social stability, reducing income inequality, and promoting participative development Tazkiyah, the process of purification, links to self resilience and economic development Ikhtiyar & Khalifa highlight human capacity for ethics within the Islamic Moral Economy Maqasid Al Sharia underscores the objectives of Islamic Sharia, including individual well being The study conceptualizes a new Islamic Economic Development Model, drawing on the ethical framework of Imam Al Ghazali and integrating Sen’s Theory of Capabilities It considers both physical and psychological aspects of human development, emphasizing success and happiness in this life and the afterlife The proposed model aligns with Islamic objectives, maintaining equilibrium between material and intellectual development Linking developmental goals in Islam with spiritual uplift, the study utilizes the Ghazalian ethical framework The model integrates maqasid al Shari’ah and the axioms of the Islamic Moral Economy to achieve self and social development, ultimately attaining falah success in the afterlife This comprehensive approach ensures that worldly development goals align with spiritual objectives, promoting justice and equity in society
