چکیده مقاله
The Electrical Power System EPS is one of the most critical subsystems of a CubeSat, as it is responsible for generating, storing, regulating, and distributing electrical energy to all onboard components The performance, reliability, and operational lifetime of a satellite strongly depend on the efficiency of its power system With the rapid growth of CubeSat missions for Earth observation, scientific research, communication, navigation, and technology demonstration, the demand for lightweight, reliable, and highly efficient power systems has increased significantly However, the limited size, mass, and power budget of CubeSats create considerable engineering challenges in designing compact yet reliable Electrical Power Systems capable of supporting increasingly sophisticated payloads This review paper presents a comprehensive overview of Electrical Power Systems used in modern CubeSat missions The paper first introduces the architecture and operational principles of CubeSat EPS and then reviews current power generation technologies, including silicon solar cells, triple junction gallium arsenide solar cells, deployable solar arrays, and flexible photovoltaic technologies Their operating principles, advantages, disadvantages, and suitability for different mission profiles are systematically compared In addition, recent technological advances in CubeSat power generation are discussed, highlighting improvements in solar cell efficiency, lightweight deployable structures, and energy harvesting techniques This review aims to provide spacecraft designers and researchers with a clear understanding of current EPS technologies while identifying future research directions for next generation CubeSat missions
