چکیده مقاله
This study evaluates the blast resistance of steel shields with triangular, square, and hexagonal stiffener configurations under close range explosions Using nonlinear finite element analysis ABAQUS 2022 , we simulated dynamic responses at scaled distances of 1 882, 3 764, and 5 646 m/kg¹/³ Results demonstrate that triangular stiffeners outperform other geometries, reducing maximum displacement by 42–58% and peak stress by 29–47% compared to square arrangements The triangular design’s angular geometry promotes efficient load distribution, minimizing localized stress concentrations while enhancing energy absorption through controlled plastic deformation Hexagonal stiffeners show intermediate performance, offering partial improvements over square configurations but falling short of triangular effectiveness The explicit dynamic analysis captured progressive damage evolution, revealing critical failure modes for each design These findings provide actionable insights for optimizing blast resistant structures in military and civilian applications, where improved protection against close range explosions is essential The study highlights the importance of stiffener geometry selection in structural resilience, with triangular patterns emerging as the superior choice for high threat scenarios Practical applications include vehicle armor, protective barriers, and critical infrastructure reinforcement Future work should explore hybrid configurations and advanced materials to further enhance blast mitigation capabilities
