چکیده مقاله
This paper investigates the causes and mitigation of corrosion in a kettle type reboiler used to heat gas condensate with hot thermal oil Under its operating conditions involving saturated gas condensate containing water, chlorides, and heavy hydrocarbons severe fouling and localized corrosion have been observed on the reboiler tubes Material inspection revealed non conforming carbon steel tubes with high hardness, and heavy white salt deposits on the tube bundle The corrosion mechanisms were analyzed as mainly chloride induced pitting and under deposit concentration cell attack Based on international codes TEMA/ASME/API/NACE , both process and mechanical solutions are proposed: controlling feedwater quality to remove salts, and modifying the exchanger e g increasing tube pitch, switching tube layout, using thicker tube walls, insulating the tube sheet, and/or upgrading materials These recommendations aim to reduce deposit formation, local corrosion, and improve thermal performance and reliability
