چکیده مقاله
In recent decades, the growing concerns over climate change, fossil fuel depletion, and environmental degradation have intensified the search for sustainable energy alternatives Biodiesel derived from waste cooking oil WCO has emerged as a promising renewable fuel due to its potential to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions, reduce waste generation, and enhance energy security However, the large scale adoption of WCO based biodiesel production faces challenges such as variability in feedstock quality, process optimization, and economic feasibility This study proposes an integrated artificial intelligence AI driven framework for the modeling, optimization, and evaluation of biodiesel production from WCO The framework consists of three key components: • Process Modeling and Optimization – Machine learning algorithms e g , Artificial Neural Networks, Random Forest, and Genetic Algorithms are employed to predict biodiesel yield and optimize reaction conditions such as methanol to oil ratio, catalyst concentration, and temperature • Life Cycle Assessment LCA – Conducted according to ISO 14040/44 standards, LCA evaluates the environmental impacts of WCO biodiesel across its entire supply chain, comparing it with conventional fossil diesel The results highlight that the integration of AI based optimization with LCA and market analysis not only enhances production efficiency but also supports sustainable decision making for policymakers and industry stakeholders This holistic approach demonstrates that biodiesel from WCO can play a significant role in the transition towards a circular economy and a low carbon future
