Introduction: The present era can be described as a close integration of communication and information The proximity between cyberspace and the minds of children and adolescents has given these technologies a unique and sometimes irresistible appeal Alongside their numerous benefits, modern technologies and computers have become inseparable parts of children’s and adolescents’ lives, both in academic contexts and in entertainment The emergence of technological and computer based tools has had the greatest impact on educational environments, serving as powerful instruments to enhance the quality and efficiency of teaching and learning Methods: A comprehensive search was conducted in scientific databases and search engines including Direct Science, Scopus, PubMed, Google Scholar, and Medline using the keywords modern technologies, learning, education, health, children, adolescents in both Persian and English Studies published between 2013 and 2023 were reviewed Findings: The search yielded 68 articles, of which 12 were included in the final analysis According to the reviewed studies, the rapid advancement of technology based tools and their adaptability to the needs of children and adolescents have created new interactive, creative, and inclusive learning environments The use of technological tools facilitates learning processes, and some tools enhance memory and visual thinking However, despite the vast benefits, improper or excessive use may lead to negative consequences such as addiction, pathological dependency, sexual exploitation, family and social disintegration, irresponsibility, aggression, depression, withdrawal, low self esteem, academic decline, anxiety, and cognitive emotional disorders Discussion and Conclusion: The fundamental aim of modern technologies is to facilitate, expand, and strengthen the processes of education and learning Their application in education, due to their capacity to respond to educational demands, store and manipulate large volumes of information, and simultaneously serve large numbers of children and adolescents, has become widespread globally Children and adolescents can benefit from e learning as a broad set of applications and IT based teaching methods—such as computers, CDs, networks, and the Internet—that provide lifelong learning opportunities for every child and adolescent, anytime and anywhere
