Patient safety is a global concern due to the irreversible consequences of adverse events Among the factors influencing the improvement of patient safety, the preparation of medical science students holds significant importance The operating room, as one of the main hospital units encompassing the critical phase of patient treatment, necessitates strict adherence to patient safety protocols Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the impact of virtual patient safety education on the attitudes and clinical performance of anesthesia technology students Methods: This semi experimental study was conducted in 2024 with the participation of 52 anesthesia technology students Patient safety education was delivered to the intervention group through a 15 minute multimedia podcast The control group received routine training Students’ attitude and clinical performance scores were measured before and after the intervention using an adapted questionnaire and a researcher developed checklist Data analysis was performed using paired t tests with SPSS software version 16 Results: Before the intervention, the mean ± standard deviation scores for attitude and performance were 46 35 ± 11 10 and 44 59 ± 24 01, respectively After the intervention, these scores increased to 76 09 ± 9 92 and 88 70 ± 10 53, respectively Paired t test results demonstrated a statistically significant difference in both attitude and performance scores before and after the intervention p < 0 001 Conclusion: The findings of this study can assist hospital administrators in enhancing the attitudes and performance of anesthesia staff regarding patient safety, fostering a culture of safety, improving the quality of care delivery, and reducing harmful incidents
