چکیده مقاله
This study aims to explore the effectiveness of etymological instruction onvocabulary learning for Iranian learners of English Fifty students bothfemale and male aged 19 23 majoring in TEFL at University of Zabolparticipated in this study They were divided into two groups, one groupreceived etymological instruction the Experimental group and the otherreceived nothing the control group The Michigan proficiency test wasemployed to make sure about the homogeneity of learners A t test wasused to compare the mean proficiency scores of the Experimental groupand Control group The results showed that the experimental groupoutperformed the control group, pointing that the etymologicalinstruction positively impacts the vocabulary learning of learners
