This article traces the evolution of digital sociology since Jonathan Wynn's 2009 proposal, highlighting the rapid development of digital technology globally and its impact on human society It explores the expansion of the research field, theoretical advancements, and methodological innovations in Western digital sociology across six core areas Additionally, it compares Western and Chinese research to offer insights for the advancement of digital sociology in China
