چکیده مقاله
By keeping in mind that the human species predominates in all over the earth, sustainability is no longer limited to the human capability of living in just nature; It means that, in addition to issues such as energy, animal/plant rights, reproductivity, the affinity of nature and women, and rewild, cultural points including language, social media, social interactions and economic features are considered sustainability On the other hand, firstly, literature and especially novels are platforms for showing lives, secondly sustainability is about the past, present, and future lives of all species; Therefore, literature can act as a friend to increase social sustainability or as a medium to establish particular unconscious sustainable attitudes Coincidence and contradiction of sustainable behaviors of characters in Michaelides’ novel, and their impacts on nature, in addition to character’s attitudes and behaviors to keep on living, are concerns of this research One of the characters, Alicia killed her husband and to remain sustained, she accepted being silent Theo, the other character, doesn’t care about either nature or any women, only does he anticipate and use them Other characters take some other types of behaviors and attitudes to increase their sustainability as well, whether those have good or bad effects for other people, and whether those are in parallel with others’ behaviors and attitudes or in contrast with them
