چکیده مقاله
Prandello’s Six Characters In Search of An Author is a hallmark of Absurdist metatheatre Right in the opening scene, the actors assemble for rehearsal Their portrayal is insignificant, and this is only emphasized by the grand entrance of the “characters ” The play underwent changes from its beginning stage in 1921, and these changes increasingly portrayed the “characters” as completely distinguished from the “actors ” In his 1925 essay PIRANDELLO CONFESSES , Pirandello aims to address “why” and “how” he wrote the play His argument revolves around the characters as would be expected, but underlying this emphasis on the character is a lingering tension regarding the actors Their existence rejects explanation, so Pirandello doesn’t attempt it Here, we aim to take a magnifying look at the actors of a play that doesn’t want us to, and evaluate the implications of their insignificant yet certain presence when it comes to the life of ourselves
