High density ZnO nanorod arrays were successfully synthesized via microwave assisted solution phase method using zinc chloride and ammonia solution as reactants The crystal structure topography and morphologies of final products were characterized using X ray powder diffraction XRD , atomic force microscopy AFM and scanning electron microscopy SEM Zirconium dioxide nanorods are composed of monoclinic zirconium dioxide phase, which has been confirmed by the X ray diffraction analysis Electron microscopy observations show that the prepared zirconium dioxide have nanorod structure, with the diameter of less than 50 nm and length of μm
