Ni supported MCM 41 catalyst was prepared with the aim to study the effect of temperature on the catalyst performance in the benzene selective hydrogenation reaction The catalyst was characterized by X ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy and N2 physisorption The Ni/MCM 41 catalyst exhibited the good catalytic behavior The results show that although the catalytic behavior of Ni/MCM 41 is good for aromatics hydrogenation, it is not selective for benzene reduction and needs to be further refined
