چکیده مقاله
Lung cancer remains a leading cause of cancer related mortality globally, with lifestyle factors, including diet, increasingly recognized as modulators of risk and progression This literature review synthesizes recent evidence on the relationship between nutrition and lung cancer, with a focus on dietary patterns, specific nutrients, and their impact on risk factors A systematic search was conducted in PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science, covering studies from 2012 to 2024 Included studies were prospective cohort studies, randomized controlled trials RCTs , and systematic reviews focusing on adult populations The review identifies the protective effects of diets rich in fruits, vegetables, and fish, while high consumption of red/processed meats, as well as saturated fats, is associated with an increased risk Key findings highlight the role of dietary indices like the Healthy Eating Index HEI and Mediterranean diet in reducing lung cancer risk, particularly in high risk populations Challenges include heterogeneity in study designs and limited RCTs specific to lung cancer Future research should focus on large scale trials to establish causal relationships and explore nutrition's role in emerging therapies
