Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most aggressive and lethal primary brain tumor in adults, characterized by rapid growth and resistance to conventional therapies. Recent advancements in genomic research have uncovered various genetic factors that may play a critical role in the prevention and management of glioblastoma. This narrative review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the current understanding of the genetic mechanisms involved in glioblastoma prevention, focusing on gene-environment interactions, genetic mutations, and epigenetic modifications. By examining the latest scientific literature, we explore potential genetic targets for early detection, risk assessment, and therapeutic intervention, highlighting the importance of personalized medicine in combating this formidable disease.
