چکیده مقاله
Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder ADHD is increasingly recognized as a condition that frequently persists into adulthood, influencing cognitive functioning, emotional regulation, and occupational adjustment While much of the literature focuses on executive dysfunction and productivity challenges, less attention has been paid to the social interpretation of ADHD related behaviors within professional environments Adults with ADHD often encounter evaluative judgments that frame their behavior in moral or motivational terms rather than neurological ones, which can significantly influence self perception and professional identity This paper explores the intersection of social judgment, self evaluation, and workplace functioning in adults with ADHD through a qualitative case study Drawing on social cognitive theory, attribution theory, neurobiological models of ADHD, and stigma theory, the study examines how workplace interpretations shape the lived experience of a professional woman diagnosed with ADHD in adulthood Findings highlight the tension between observable competence and the invisible cognitive effort required for regulation They also illustrate how repeated social misinterpretations can contribute to internalized doubt while simultaneously motivating the development of adaptive strategies The analysis suggests that workplace outcomes for adults with ADHD emerge not only from neurological traits but also from the interaction between those traits and the social environments in which they are interpreted
