چکیده مقاله
One way to reduce the number of deaths in road accidents in the city is toinvestigate the relationship between travel mode choice and number of deaths,according to which helpful and effective planning can be conducted This studyintroduces a model to present the relationships between the number of deaths inroad accidents in Tehran metropolis as dependent variable and the number oftravel by different transportation modes, including motorcycles, private cars,buses and minibuses, taxis and vans, metro as independent variable To do so,generalized linear model GLM is utilized which is a common method formodeling of accidental data Results indicate that using motorcycle and publictransportation mode had the greatest and least impact on the number of deaths inTehran respectively Therefore, in order to reduce the fatalities, implementationof policies concerning restriction of motorcycle use, safety enhancement formotorcyclist and encouraging citizens to use public transportation isrecommended
