چکیده مقاله
In recent decades, the post industrialized world has experienced a sharp increase in energy intake and a proportional decrease in daily physical activity Children and adolescents are not exempt from this trend In fact, they seem to be paying a steep price for the leniency of modern industrialized society regarding persistently positive energy balance and its resulting tendency toward excessive body weight A concern to many is the evidence that excessive body weight and an absence of regular physical activity or physical unfitness are associated with the risks of type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and other chronic diseases in progressively younger individuals, including children and teenagers, and may lead to recurrent morbidity, poor quality of life, and premature death
