Introduction: Jump landing is a fundamental movement in volleyball and plays a critical role in both performance and the incidence of lower limb injuries Improper movement patterns during landing may increase dynamic knee valgus, reduce joint stability, and elevate the risk of ACL injury The aim of this study was to analyze the kinematic characteristics of jump landing in volleyball players and identify movement related factors associated with increased knee injury risk Methods: Twenty elite volleyball players participated in this study Kinematic data were collected using three dimensional motion capture and high speed video analysis Hip, knee, and ankle joint angles at initial ground contact and during the force absorption phase were extracted and analyzed using independent t tests and ANOVA Results: Knee flexion angle was significantly greater in the safe landing group p = 0 012 , while dynamic knee valgus p = 0 008 and knee angular velocity p = 0 021 were higher in the high‑risk group Hip range of motion was significantly reduced in high‑risk landings p = 0 034 Jump type influenced knee flexion p = 0 018 , with spike jumps producing the stiffest landings Landing symmetry index was higher in the high‑risk group p = 0 027 Regression analysis identified knee flexion p = 0 009 , dynamic valgus p = 0 015 , and angular velocity p = 0 028 as significant predictors, explaining 48% of injury‑risk variance R² = 0 48 Conclusion: Improper movement patterns during landing may increase knee injury risk in volleyball players Training proper landing techniques and correcting high risk movement strategies can play an important role in preventing ACL injuries
