چکیده مقاله
This study explored how effective Dr Taghizadeh’s Mental Simulation Model is at reducing stuttering severity, easing speech related anxiety, and boosting self confidence in boys aged 4 to 12 who stutter in Tehran Using a semi experimental design with pre and post tests and a control group, children meeting the DSM 5 criteria for stuttering were randomly divided into experimental and control groups The experimental group participated in 10 monthly sessions, each lasting two hours, at the Mind Empowerment Center During these sessions, they practiced techniques like mentally visualizing fluent speech, reconstructing verbal memory, developing empathy, relaxing the speech muscles, practicing controlled breathing, and coordinating mouth and body movements Stuttering severity, anxiety levels, and self confidence were measured through DSM 5 based assessments and validated psychological questionnaires The results showed significant improvements in the experimental group, with notable reductions in stuttering severity and speech anxiety, alongside increased self confidence These findings highlight that the Mental Simulation Model, which focuses on harmonizing the mind, body, and speech, offers a promising, non invasive, and culturally sensitive way to support children dealing with childhood onset fluency disorder as defined by DSM 5
