چکیده مقاله
Parkinson’s disease PD is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the loss of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra, leading to motor and non motor impairments Oxidative stress, neuroinflammation, and excitotoxicity are key contributors to PD pathogenesis Lavandula officinalis lavender possesses antioxidant, anti inflammatory, and neuroprotective properties due to bioactive compounds such as linalool, camphor, and rosmarinic acid Preclinical studies suggest that lavender may reduce oxidative stress, modulate neuroinflammatory pathways, and stabilize neurotransmission, potentially preserving neuronal integrity and function Despite promising evidence, clinical studies are lacking, and the long term safety and efficacy of lavender in PD remain unclear This study discusses current preclinical evidence and explores future perspectives for the therapeutic application of Lavandula officinalis in Parkinson’s disease
