Objective: The aim of the present research was to develop a structural equation model for the development of sports facilities with a focus on attracting private sector investment in the context of sports tourism Methodology: This study is classified as a mixed methods research, incorporating both exploratory and explanatory types, utilizing a qualitative quantitative approach In the qualitative section, 15 experts in the fields of sports tourism and sports management were examined through in depth interviews to present a systematic model of the findings In the quantitative section, based on the results of the first phase, a questionnaire was developed and distributed to 200 members of the Sports Tourism Commission and related experts after establishing its validity and reliability Findings: The path coefficients of the components and indicators of the research were identified In the institutional political component, the indicator 'stress free environment' had a correlation of 84% In the sports facilities component, the indicator 'construction of sports camps' had a correlation of 76% In the managerial organizational component, the indicator 'removal of political and economic barriers to investment' had a correlation of 65%, and in the cultural social component, the investment security indicator had the highest impact with a correlation of 93% The strongest influence among the components was found
