Introduction: Emotion regulation deficits are increasingly recognized as a core feature of attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder ADHD , yet the cognitive and interpersonal mechanisms linking these deficits to ADHD symptoms remain underexplored, particularly among university students This study aimed to investigate the mediating roles of executive function difficulties cognitive pathway and perceived social rejection interpersonal pathway in the relationship between emotion regulation deficits and ADHD symptoms in students at the University of Tabriz Methods: This fundamental research employed a descriptive correlational design using path analysis The statistical population included all undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Tabriz during the ۲۰۲۴ ۲۰۲۵ academic year, from which ۲۰۰ students ۱۲۰ female, ۸۰ male were selected via cluster random sampling Data were collected using the Adult ADHD Self Report Scale ASRS , the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale DERS , the Executive Function Index EFI , and the Perceived Social Rejection Scale PSRS Descriptive statistics, bivariate correlations, and path analysis with bootstrapping ۵,۰۰۰ resamples were conducted using SPSS and Amos Results: Emotion regulation deficits had significant direct effects on executive function difficulties β=۰ ۵۲, p
