چکیده مقاله
Temporary housing after natural disasters in the United States is one of the complex challenges that requires effective and sustainable solutions This article examines two types of temporary housing models: models that are supported by the federal government and models that are proposed and built by people or non governmental organizations Federal models include prefabricated housing units MHU and travel trailer housing units TTHU that are usually installed quickly and at low cost, but face challenges including low quality and limited living space In contrast, proposed or non federal models such as modular housing and transitional shelters, due to greater flexibility and better localization possibilities, can provide a better living experience for residents, but due to lack of financial support and limited policymaking, they face implementation problems This article, through case study analysis of crises such as Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Harvey, examines the advantages and limitations of each of these models and ultimately provides a comparative analysis of the capabilities and challenges of each model The results show that for effective selection of housing models, attention must be paid to the specific characteristics of crises, immediate and long term needs of residents, and the possibility of social and cultural support
