چکیده مقاله
Childhood trauma, both emotional and physical, has profound and lasting effects on brain development and psychosocial functioning Recent advancements in neuroimaging and developmental psychology have revealed that early adverse experiences may lead to structural and functional changes in key brain regions, including the amygdala, hippocampus, and prefrontal cortex These changes are often associated with deficits in cognitive processes such as working memory, attention, and emotional regulation, as well as impaired social interactions during adolescence This review synthesizes findings from neuroscience, clinical psychology, and social cognitive research to explore the pathways through which early trauma shapes neurodevelopment and behavior In particular, the paper focuses on how specific types of trauma—such as neglect, emotional abuse, and physical violence affect brain circuits involved in threat detection, executive function, and social cognition The long term implications of these changes for academic performance, peer relationships, and mental health outcomes are also examined Understanding these relationships is critical for the development of targeted interventions aimed at mitigating the effects of trauma and promoting resilience in vulnerable youth By integrating evidence from various disciplines, this paper highlights the need for early identification and trauma informed care within educational, familial, and clinical settings
