چکیده مقاله
Takaful refers to Islamic insurance models based on mutual risk sharing and compliance with Sharia financing principles As Takaful markets have rapidly expanded in the Persian Gulf region, the unique dynamics around invested funds and profit sharing raise important questions regarding potential inflationary impacts This paper specifically analyzes how increased Takaful adoption could influence inflation rates across six major Gulf countries Takaful funds differ in their investment allocation and ability to provide self insurance given profit sharing concepts These structural factors may introduce new monetary policy transmission mechanisms affecting inflation Time series data from 2000 2020 is statistically tested using panel regression techniques to assess if Takaful growth significantly impacts Gulf consumer price inflation The empirical results do not indicate a direct short term inflationary effect from rising Takaful contributions However, given data limitations currently and Takaful’s trajectory, conceptual arguments suggest growth could have inflationary consequences as markets mature through channels like concentrated fund investment and alternative social safety nets The findings highlight the need for further empirical research on Takaful's monetary policy linkages as transparency and sector size develops over time Although not evident historically, assessing Takaful’s inflationary risks remains important for regulators given its expansion in the Islamic finance landscape
