Introduction: Back pain is one of the most common musculoskeletal pains that force patients with discopathy to seek care Another intervention that can be used in this field is the use of a new auxiliary therapy called Back and knee recovery device This research aims to determine the effect of back and knee recovery device “kamarasa” on the severity of symptoms in patients with discopathy Method: This study is a two group clinical The intervention was Kamarasa stretching device The research population included all patients with grade 1, 2, and 3 lumbar/sacral discopathy who met the entry criteria Inclusion criteria include age of between 18 and 60 years, diagnosis of grade 1, 2 and 3 discopathy according to the attending physician, absence of other disease or abnormality in the spine area In order to collect data, the demographic information form, visual analogue scale for assessing pain intensity and comfort, a checklist of the ability to perform activities of daily living were used Result:The mean score of pain after the intervention in the intervention group was 3 42±1 17 and in the control group was 8 36±1 06 The results showed a statistically significant difference between the two group in terms of the mean score of pain p=0 0001 The results showed that by controlling the effects of confounding variables, such as the degree of discopathy and the use of painkillers, the mean score of comfort after the intervention changed to 9 598 ± 0 149 in the intervention group and 6 102 ± 0 149 in the control group, indicating a significant difference between the two groups in this regard P=0 0001 Regarding activities daily living, Chi Square test showed that the desired intervention in the areas of walking chi square=46 651, p value=0 0001 and moving chi square=32 571, p value=0 0001 had caused a statistically significant difference between two groups Conclusion: Results showed that completing all sessions treatment by the back knee recovery device, in addition to short to medium term effects, was able to have long term effects on the severity of patients’ symptoms, such as pain and comfort and ADLs Therefore knee back recovery device as a new innovation in the auxiliary treatment of patients with grade 1, 2 and 3 discopathy can be used
