Background: Health education faces many challenges and obstacles that affect its quality and effectiveness in Iran Identifying and removing these obstacles can lead to the improvement of the existing situation Therefore, the present study was conducted with the aim of 'explaining the obstacles and challenges of health education in the comprehensive health system of Birjand city in Eastern Iran' Methods: This study is a qualitative research with a contractual content analysis approach, in which 12 personnel of the health care system of Birjand were selected and their opinions about the obstacles and challenges of health education were examined in the September to December of 1402 Semi structured interviews were conducted face to face and continued until data saturation Data analysis was done using Graneheim and Lundman method and the validity of the data was also checked Results: The average duration of the interviews was 30 minutes 136 initial codes were extracted during 12 interviews After merging similar codes, there are 26 codes in 7 subcategories, 4 main categories
