چکیده مقاله
This paper presents an Industrial Design ID approach to Placemaking, exploring how this cross disciplinary methodology can be applied to the goal of 'Social and Psychological Sustainability' defined as user well being, sense of belonging, and community engagement It argues that achieving this goal requires a deeper synthesis of rational functionality and emotive form A 'Research Through Design' RTD methodology was employed, beginning with a foundational study of these two paradigms The knowledge gained was applied to the design of the primary research artifact: 'Fluid Landscape,' an environmental structure This structure is analyzed on its formal, functional, and interpretative levels The findings demonstrate that the structure's rational framework providing predictable functions like seating and shade acts as an essential 'stage' that enables the dynamic, formal elements to foster reflective and aesthetic experiences This research concludes that this synthesis is the intended mechanism for creating a psychologically resonant space The paper proposes this as a potential framework for fostering a 'sense of belonging'
