چکیده مقاله
As the impacts of climate change intensify and energy consumption in the built environment surges, architectural education must evolve beyond outdated theoretical models to address real world environmental challenges Buildings are responsible for nearly 39% of global energy related carbon emissions, yet many architectural programs especially in developing regions fail to equip students with the practical tools and analytical skills necessary to design sustainable, high performance spaces This research presents a transformative educational model aimed at embedding environmental control principles into the core of architectural curricula through a three pronged approach: theory, experimentation, and digital simulation Eastern Mediterranean University EMU is selected as a representative case study to identify educational gaps and propose a scalable, innovative solution that can be adapted globally The model integrates theoretical instruction on thermal comfort, daylighting, acoustics, and indoor air quality with lab based learning and parametric simulation using Rhino, Grasshopper, Ladybug, and Honeybee Through this integration, students transition from passive understanding to dynamic, data informed design processes Environmental control is reframed not as an elective topic but as a foundational discipline, deeply embedded in design studios and technical courses The framework fosters critical thinking, systems literacy, design decision making, and ecological responsibility qualities essential for future architectural leaders Benchmarking against top tier institutions such as MIT, ETH Zurich, TU Delft, Harvard GSD, and UCL Bartlett reinforces the model’s academic rigor and adaptability Furthermore, the framework aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals especially SDG 7 Affordable and Clean Energy , SDG 11 Sustainable Cities , and SDG 13 Climate Action Ultimately, this study offers a robust, future ready model for architectural education that combines analytical precision, sustainable vision, and technological fluency to prepare climate resilient, innovative driven architects for a rapidly evolving global landscape
