The automotive industry, a cornerstone of the global economy, faces increasing pressure to address its significant environmental footprint This paper examines the growing importance of environmental management and the urgent need for sustainable development within this sector It delves into the multifaceted environmental challenges posed by the automotive industry, including air pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, natural resource depletion, and waste generation Furthermore, it explores strategic responses and innovative solutions, such as the development of clean vehicles, improved fuel efficiency, sustainable infrastructure, lifecycle management, and green technologies The paper highlights the critical role of governmental policies, regulatory frameworks, and multi stakeholder collaboration in facilitating this transition By synthesizing existing research and providing a comprehensive overview, this article underscores that embracing sustainable practices is not merely an ethical imperative but a strategic necessity for the long term viability and competitiveness of the automotive industry in a rapidly changing global landscape
