چکیده مقاله
This study numerically investigates the thermal behavior of an electric vehicle EV fire in an enclosed underground car park using Computational Fluid Dynamics CFD through the Fire Dynamics Simulator FDS implemented in PyroSim The modeled domain represents a typical 14 × 20 m residential parking layout containing six vehicles, where the fire originated from the lithium ion battery beneath one EV Simulation results reveal intense heat generation and significant vertical temperature stratification within the confined space The ceiling temperature above the EV reached 707°C, while side measurements at 0 4 m and 0 8 m distances recorded peaks of 797°C and 711°C, respectively Temperature contours across key sections illustrate the spatial distribution of heat and its progression over time The results provide valuable insights into the thermal impact and heat transfer characteristics of EV fires, contributing to a better understanding of their behavior for fire safety engineering applications and future design standards in underground car parks
