Citizen sports participation is influenced by a variety of political and socioeconomic factors that shape accessibility, motivation, and engagement This study investigates how political decisions, municipal policies, income levels, and educational background affect participation in sports activities in Rasht Using a mixed method approach combining surveys of 400 residents and interviews with municipal officials and sports coordinators, the study identifies key determinants that enhance or limit citizen engagement Results indicate that supportive political frameworks and equitable socioeconomic conditions are critical for promoting sustainable and inclusive sports participation
