چکیده مقاله
The evolution of Electric Vehicles EVs and Hybrid Electric Vehicles HEVS has intensified the demand for reliable and safety compliant Battery Management Systems BMS capable of operating under high power conditions To achieve automotive grade performance, such systems must conform to strict functional safety standards, notably ISO 26262, while maintaining software modularity and interoperability through the AUTOSAR Automotive Open System Architecture framework This paper presents a comprehensive functional safety and AUTOSAR compliant framework for BMS design and implementation in electric vehicles The proposed architecture integrates advanced State of Charge SOC estimation algorithms based on filter based and data driven techniques within an AUTOSAR software stack that includes standardized modules for communication, diagnostics, and safety management Furthermore, the framework adopts safety certified microcontrollers e g , TI TMS570 and ST SPC58 series with lockstep cores and built in diagnostic mechanisms to meet ASIL D requirements Hardware design methodologies like Failure Mode, Effects, and Diagnostic Analysis FMEDA are employed to quantify diagnostic coverage and fault tolerance The resulting architecture ensures modular software design, enhanced fault detectability, and compliance with ISO 26262 hardware metrics while maintaining scalability across various EV platforms The study concludes that integrating AUTOSAR based software layers with functional safety mechanisms significantly improves both system reliability and real time performance in next generation electric vehicle BMS applications This work uniquely unifies an AUTOSAR compliant software stack with ISO 26262 functional safety metrics and hybrid SOC estimation in a single, real time BMS framework verified via SIL/HIL Quantitative FMEDA and ASIL D hardware metrics demonstrate certifiable safety with sub 1% SOC error under dynamic drive cycles
