چکیده مقاله
Sex trafficking represents one of the most severe and complex forms of transnational organized crime, involving systematic exploitation, coercion, and persistent violations of human dignity Unlike conventional crimes, sexual trafficking exposes victims to continuous and multi layered harm, resulting in serious physical, psychological, and social consequences Despite the establishment of international legal instruments—most notably the Palermo Protocol—criminal justice responses to sexual trafficking remain largely offender centered, prioritizing prosecution and punishment while marginalizing victim protection and rehabilitation Adopting a victimological perspective, this article critically examines the position of victims of sexual trafficking within the framework of transnational criminal law and international criminal justice It argues that crime centered and security oriented approaches fail to address victims’ complex needs and frequently contribute to secondary victimization through practices such as detention, stigmatization, and conditional access to support services Using a descriptive–analytical methodology based on library research, the study analyzes international legal instruments, scholarly literature, and policy reports to identify structural deficiencies in victim protection The findings demonstrate that effective responses to sexual trafficking require the institutionalization of victim centered and restorative justice oriented strategies, including independent victim identification, psychosocial assistance, and legal protection irrespective of migration status The article concludes that embedding victim centered principles into criminal justice policy is essential for achieving humane, effective, and sustainable justice for victims of sexual trafficking
