Background: Binge eating, and anorexia nervosa are two common eating disorders in adolescents that can have significant negative consequences for their physical and mental health Various factors can play a role in the occurrence of these disorders, including family, peer, and individual factors Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of family and peers on overeating and anorexia nervosa in female students of the first secondary level of Mashhad, District 2 Method: This research is survey correlation research The statistical population of this research includes all female students of the first secondary level of Mashhad city, district 2 in the academic year of 2011 2014 From this population, 384 students were selected as a sample using cluster random sampling method Data were collected using questionnaires of family emotional support, parental control, communication with parents, peer pressure, peer social support, overeating and anorexia nervosa Data were analyzed using SPSS 27 software Findings: Emotional family support, communication with parents and social support of peers can help reduce the risk of binge eating and anorexia nervosa in adolescents On the other hand, parental control and peer pressure can increase the risk of overeating and anorexia nervosa in adolescents Conclusion: According to the findings of this research, it can be said that it is necessary to focus on the prevention of overeating and anorexia nervosa in adolescents on strengthening family relationships and friendships, as well as reducing peer pressure
