Artificial Intelligence AI has emerged as a transformative force in the field of English language education, reshaping traditional pedagogical approaches and enabling personalized, adaptive, and interactive learning experiences This paper explores the major applications of AI in English language teaching ELT , including chatbots for communication practice, AI powered assessment tools, intelligent writing assistants, and personalized learning platforms Drawing on recent research and case studies, the paper discusses the pedagogical benefits of AI integration, such as increased learner engagement and individualized support Additionally, it examines key ethical and implementation challenges, including data privacy, algorithmic bias, and teacher training The paper concludes by offering insights into the future of AI in ELT and its implications for language educators and policymakers
