چکیده مقاله
In order to investigate the effect of listening comprehension on vocabulary learning, a quasi experimental design was devised with a pretest and posttest The learners were selected through convenient sampling and were homogenized using Key English Test KET Overall, 85 learners participated in this study The researcher developed a reliable form of Vocabulary Knowledge Scale VKS to be used as pretest and posttest Spearman correlation was used to test the research question The results indicated that the correlation between listening test scores and VKS pretest was not significant; however, the correlation between the VKS posttest and the listening test was significant The null hypothesis stating that Listening comprehension contributes to learners’ acquisition of L2 vocabulary was rejected Pedagogical implication of the finding was elaborated in the final chapter
