This study compares several characteristics of GAMS, a well known com mercial product, to Pyomo, an open source Python library In both environments, wetackle the same problem Pyomo was utilized as an optimization library in this paper to handle a typical problem The fundamental reason is the enormous diversity andproliferation of Python libraries The reader is encouraged to utilize Pyomo since, unlike GAMS, it is free source and not commercial
